We want to change the world through kindness and we’re seeking passionate people to join us on our journey
Like everyone, we see so much suffering all around us and we want to do what we can to make a difference: to the lives of our fellow human beings, for our struggling planet and to heal the suffering caused to many creatures that inhabit it alongside us.
We have lots of ideas for projects but we can’t deliver them without help. Our aim is for all of our projects to become self-sustainable, preferably becoming independent social enterprises, but we recognise they will need financial investment and facilities and, most importantly, passionate people, to own each project and make it successful.
If you’d like to build a future for yourself doing something you love that fits with our ideas, and you need some help to get started, then read on…But please contact us ONLY if you have a PASSION for the chosen project and the drive to see it succeed in its mission.
For anyone interested in delivering one of our projects with us, we can put together a kick-start package of support, tailored to the project, which will look something like this:-
● Website set up and hosting
● Funding to sustain your initial work on the project
● Guidance on how to make the project sustainable longer term
● Access to our network and venue facilities
● Peer support from our great team
Our current ‘Kinda’ Projects looking for an owner
Here are some of our ideas, but do also let us know if you have a ‘Kinda’ project idea of your own that fits with these themes:-
KindaOby: We own a heritage drainage mill on the Norfolk Broads which we will, in conjunction with the Broads Authority, City College Norwich students, and through Heritage Lottery funding, be renovating to its former glory. We then want to develop this beautiful site into a Greencare centre, offering recovery retreats to those in need through partnerships with charitable organisations. To do this, we first need to find an individual or group of people with a passion to lead this project for us and ultimately take on the site as their own social enterprise or co-operative venture. If this is you, then we’d love to hear from you
KindaUpcycling: We want to support the upcycling and recycling of goods as part of our objective to be kinder to our planet. We have facilities in our KindaVillage site in Wales, with workshop space and storage, from which someone wanting to start their own social enterprise in upcycling goods can base their venture. Anyone interested in partnering with us, should please contact us with their proposal.
KindaCoaching: We will enable ‘coaches’ to create online forum networks for peers to support and motivate each other to achieve a particular goal. It could be: eating healthier, getting fit, giving up an addiction, work joy, all of these or any other topic, depending on the passion and knowledge of the coach. This is a ‘people supporting people’ idea and is not aimed at professional coaches. If you like helping people and you have a passion that fits with this idea, then please get in touch.
KindaJob: an initiative designed to support those who find it hard to maintain full-time work, due to unpredictable physical or mental health, chronic illness or other impairment, but who are committed to finding work and interested in creating a job-share co-op (like a ‘member-owned’ job agency); to then market their collective services to compassionate employers. We are looking for someone with lived experience of this problem who has a background in HR, recruitment or similar, and who wants to get this project off the ground. Let us know if this is you!
KindaSound Radio: Promoting kindness and happiness across the airwaves to a worldwide audience of kindness warriors, inspiring people into social and environmental action…We’re looking to create community radio with a difference, embracing the ‘worldwide community’ and enabling everyone who has a positive message to have a global voice. We’re looking for an individual or team that will know how to hit the ground running and build a team of volunteers and a network of contributors. If you have a passion for kindness and radio and want to lead this project, please contact us.
KindaStory: Currently a Wisdom Trail play promoting kindness over greed. To make children think about their choices as they go through life. We want to publish this and get it into schools and children’s drama groups, as well as collect stories and plays with a moral message. Especially radio plays and stories that can be broadcast on our KindaSound Radio station. We’re interested in hearing from you if you have story-telling, drama or publishing knowledge and would like to lead a steering group to co-ordinate this project for us. Let’s change the world through story-telling…!
KindaCuisine – Ready Meals: Mindful, nutritious food, lovingly pre-prepared for people wanting to improve their eating habits in an easily achievable way and at the same time be kinder to our planet. A fast food and ready-meal brand specialising in vegan, vegetarian and allergy sensitive recipes. All profits will be used for a designated social purpose, helping impoverished communities overseas to grow food for themselves. We have large commercial kitchens at our Paignton and Cambridge venues, so if you live in either of those areas and think you could set this up in partnership with us, let us know.
KindaConsumerism: We want to influence people to think before they buy, making ethical choices with their money and support social enterprise and companies who have good ethics, rather than companies who give all their profits to their shareholders. We will enable a campaigner to champion this cause in whatever way they and we think will best achieve this required sea-change. If you think you know how to do this, then please get in touch with us.
KindaVideo Challenge: This one’s for any avid film-makers out there who want to help us put together a show-reel of short videos on what ‘The Missing Kind’ means to different people. Students and others will be invited to submit their own creative video masterpieces, interview other people for their views, help us with promotion for the project, or on the technical side with editing the submitted videos, etc. We want to publicise the show-reel online. Before we can do any of this, we are seeking someone to oversee the whole project for us. Please get in touch if you think you’ll fit the bill.
KindaBlogging: Have an idea about how to make a positive change in the world but need a hand? What do you care most about? If you have a cause that we also believe in, a passion for campaigning and a persuasive online writing style, we can support with website set-ups and costs and also link you in with our network to support your campaign and spread your social change message. Tell us what you care about and we’ll see if we can help.
KindaMerchandising: Ethical products with a kindness message. For sale via an online shop and in our growing KindaKafe network. We’re looking to support those in poverty who have a talent for crafting and would be interested in becoming part of a team of remote workers creating merchandise for us. We need someone to oversee the development of the online shop, enlist and support merchandise contributors and market the products to success. Do you have the right skills, knowledge, background and ethics to put your passion into this project? Tell us all about what you can do.
KindaGeneration: We started with our intergenerational Kindness club in Diss, Norfolk, which unfortunately had to close (we hope temporarily..) in 2018 due to illness of the organiser and no-one to take over. Old and young spent time together over tea, cake and crafts and everybody involved really enjoyed and benefited enormously from the experience. We are looking to replicate this in other care homes and are seeking people to help us deliver more intergenerational initiatives. If you work in either childcare or elderly care and think you can make something like this work in your area, then do let us know all about your idea.
KindaSchooling: We’re developing an online toolbox for schools to bring kindness into the curriculum. Ideas, worksheets, plays and more for teachers to use in their teaching; nurturing young children into being kinder to themselves, their families and friends, strangers, animals and the world around them. We’ve got loads of material already and we’re nearly there. We’re looking for a person or team to move this project forward, completing the work started and getting this online and into schools. Interested? Please get in touch
KindaCare: We’re going to be developing loads of separate projects and we’re interested in talking to anyone who has ideas related to the care sector. Particularly social care workers who are based in the Torbay area, where we’ll be developing a KindaCare co-operative and co-housing for its workers at KindaPlace. We also want to provide alternative residential elderly care at KindaVillage, provide support for independent living including: befriending and digital inclusion schemes, social groups to tackle loneliness and isolation, and more! If you’re in the care sector or have ideas that will improve the lives of those who need care, and are interested in setting up any of these initiatives with us, then get in touch.
